When we got the invite to the Midwest Clinic, you congratulated me and said whatever you need I’m here for you. Thank you for sticking to that promise, you’ve gone so far beyond what I think I could have ever expected that to mean. Every time you visit our band hall we get WAY better and I learn something new. I love the way you approach teaching band and am so glad I get to call you one of best friends.

Long ago, when you and I were still baby band directors at Klein Oak, who would have ever thought we’d be here now? I’m so proud of what you have accomplished and want to thank you for always offering an ear and guidance on what we needed next in our music. You always challenge me to think of the music first, which I’m so appreciative of. Thanks for being one of my best friends.

Evan VanDoren
Wow, what a year!  I’m so thankful that our friendship has continued to grow beyond our years of teaching drum corps together and that our families have become so close. You have been such a supportive friend, it’s been a pleasure to see you work with our students. Your talent as a composer is only surpassed by what a wonderful person you are.

Words can not express the amount of gratitude I have for you for supporting my passion for music and being a band director. This fall has been one of the hardest, but also the most rewarding times of my career. Your support and encouragement got me through many days of feeling like I might have gotten myself in over my head. Coming home to you and Jack always makes the days better. Today’s performance is dedicated to you and our sweet baby boy. I love you.
